Peter ”Crackers” Keenan

Peter ”Crackers” Keenan Crackers (Peter Patrick Pius Paul) Keenan from the small town of Wilby near Yarrawonga and subsequently Assumption College, played 213 VFL games for Melbourne, North Melbourne and Essendon between 1970 and 1980. A famous ruckman he was in North Melbourne’s premiership team of ’77 as first ruck and missed a second grand final due to suspension.

A larger than life character, he has remained a popular, successful and colorful character in the media after his playing career. He has been a larrikan and a celebrity through both his playing and media careers.

Crackers has been a keen follower of Horse Racing all his life and there are some great stories of his punting and following race results whilst on the football field. He has also played against Percy for much of his career and as demonstrated by Percy’s recent 70th, he has some good stories about Percy.

This should be a very entertaining lunch.
